I am Marvellous and I come from a village in Bushbuckridge. I am happy to be in this Industry and I am so appreciative to have been given this opportunity to work for Tented Adventures. It is a dream come true, that I get to work with people from all around the world and giving them great service under the African sky. I love the challenge that work brings me every day, and in the coming years, I would to run a camp like this
My name is Themba Silinda from Bushbuckridge. At university, I studied crime risk management, which I thought was the route for me, but once I started working at Tented Adventures, there was no turning back. Every day is amazing here, I get to interact with guests from far and wide, I get to learn something new every day. To the rest of the team, I am the Braai master, as I have acquired a special skill for preparing meat for our guests.
I am Conni Hzinra from Bushbuckridge. Before I started at Tented Adventures, I had no previous experience but, with help from the team, I have learnt so many interesting things. The Team is like a family to me, which I am grateful to be a part of. Now I’m excited to get up every day and go to the job I love and soon in the near future I would like to obtain my field guide qualifications.
My name is Fortunate Moshao from Kabokweni. It brings me immense pleasure to work for this company, Tented Adventures. I am a very hard-working person and am extremely passionate about what I do. I enjoy meeting people from all round the world, and I am blessed to work with such an amazing team. Soon, I would like to take on a management role and make a difference in the company, that will take it to the next level.
I am Jason Branford, I am an extremely out going and fun person to be around. I love anything outdoors especially when it comes to nature. I have had a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge with people for long time, and working for Tented Adventures has given me best of both worlds. I don’t see myself living and working anywhere else.
I have started as a game tracker at a tender age, my father was a guide and what he shared with me growing up, made me what I am today. My love for people and nature made me fall in love with field guiding. Meeting people from all walks of life with different cultures makes my love for the job even better. I love sharing the information I know with others and field guiding gives me the opportunity to do so as I have lots to talk about and explain.
I am 33 and I was born in a village called Dwarsberg. Being born here means that I have been in the bush for most of my life. I have been at TA for 18 months and before that I was an electrical assistant at a local mining company.
I am a really good cook and guests have been trying to get my braai chicken marinade recipe out of me for a while now. But that will always be my secret. I love interacting with guests and listening to the stories they share with us, it's awesome to meet people from all over the world.
I'm 18 years old and I was born in Giyane Limpopo. I joined the Tented Adventures family in October 2017 and am really growing to love the tourism industry, most of all I enjoy interacting with the guests, getting to know them and where they are from. I have a real passion for cooking and I'm sure in short time I will blow Benni's (See above) secret braai chicken marinade out of the water. When I'm not working on my cooking skills you'll find me nose deep in books as I study towards completing my teaching course with UNISA. I see myself growing much further in the tourism industry.
I am 28 years old and I was born in a village called Disake. I was working at a local supermarket and studying electrical engineering. And then I joined the Tented Adventures family, I am the most recent member of the team at the Pilanesberg camp and am so happy to be here. I have always wanted to work in the bush and this is my first experience of The Pilanesberg in the hospitality industry. I really enjoy meeting new people and interacting with them.
TA is the best place to work!
My name is Robert Boyes but they call me Ranger Bob :) I grew up in Joburg but constant trips to the Kruger Park gave me my love of the bush. I enjoy good banter and teaching my guests about the game to the best of my ability. Usually they are after the Big 5 but I am also really passionate about birds. I am now working as Camp Manager for Tented Adventures Pilanesberg and love every moment of it. I get to to live out my two passions – people and nature. It's what I live for. Can't wait to meet all of you all here. And just remember: "Laka in the bush!!"
I grew up in Pretoria and spent any spare time that I could get my hands on in the bush. After I finished school I worked in the UK as a chef but missed South Africa too much and returned to my love of the bush. I love all aspects of nature, not only the big game. I have a huge passion for the smaller animals (especially snakes) and really believe that looking for the smaller animals will usually lead you to the big ones.
Tented Adventures is an awesome place to be as I get to live my dream and share my passion with new people every day.
My name is Gregory Crichton, 26, and the passion that I have for the bush I carried through my studies and into my career. I received my undergraduate degree in Geography and Environmental Sciences at Rhodes in 2014, and my Honours in GIS from NMMU in 2016. My ultimate aim in life is to be in conservation – understanding and preserving our natural world. Guiding provides me with a great opportunity to learn about the bush on a day to day basis, as well as share and learn with people from around the world. I have a sound knowledge of most aspects of the bush, but I also have special interests in landscapes, tracking and birding. Hope to see you here soon!
I am the camp host at Pretoriuskop and my main duties involve cooking, cleaning as well as hosting guests. I love what I do, everyday I get to meet different people coming from across the world which is so fascinating. We get to share stories, and they often ask me for my recipes, because they so love what I cater for them. My plan is not to stay as a camp host, I want to grow and learn the industry become one of Tented Adenture's best safari guides as well as a top senior manager. With my charisma and the enthusiasm, I believe I have what it takes. Can't wait to meet you!
